Visual Identity / EP Campaign
Art Club is a Glasgow-based band blending Jazz, Afrobeat, Electronica, and Soul into a sound that feels both timeless and explosive. The visual identity for their EP Crystal Children was designed to reflect that same energy through bold color, abstract illustration, and expressive typography.
The project explores a playful but striking visual language inspired by handmade artwork, surreal forms, and experimental music culture. Using bright primary colors, organic shapes, and rough textures, the identity creates something energetic, emotional, and slightly unpredictable.
The Art Club logo was designed as a flexible visual mark that combines playful typography with handmade illustration. The custom symbol integrates abstract facial features and eye forms to create a logo that feels artistic, experimental, and memorable.
Bright color combinations help reinforce the energetic tone of the band while allowing the identity system to remain visually loud across multiple applications.
The illustration style focuses on abstract forms, imperfect textures, and hand-drawn elements to create visuals that feel spontaneous and emotionally driven.
The simplified eye illustrations and organic black shapes introduce a surreal quality inspired by dream imagery, collage work, and expressive mark-making. This creates a visual system that feels youthful, vibrant, and slightly chaotic in the best way.
The vinyl cover combines minimal composition with bold visual contrast. The oversized black form creates a strong central shape, while the colorful typography adds rhythm and movement across the layout.
The packaging system extends beyond the cover through custom inner sleeve graphics and patterned elements, helping the project feel cohesive and collectible as a physical music object.
The EP artwork centers around abstraction and symbolism. A large black organic shape paired with a hand-drawn eye illustration creates a mysterious focal point that feels both childlike and surreal.
The contrast between minimal forms and vibrant typography reflects the band’s balance of soulful rhythm and explosive sound. The composition intentionally feels raw and imperfect, helping the artwork feel more human and expressive.
The merchandise applies the visual identity directly onto apparel using oversized graphics and bold placement. The front design features the Art Club logo in a compact format, while the back uses the full Crystal Children artwork as the focal point.
The final t-shirt system was designed to feel expressive, wearable, and connected to underground music culture—blending album merchandise with contemporary streetwear aesthetics.
